Hi. We’re Haskel Education Network.

We believe that every person deserves a quality education.

Haskel Education Network is a 501(c)3 non-profit that helps put education in the hands of those closest to each learner.

We believe that the best way to ensure that every person has access to a quality education is to encourage a variety of options. Options give people choices. When you have a choice, you have a voice, and that voice is what promotes quality outcomes.

When you don’t have a choice, you’re stuck with the status quo. Sadly, the status quo isn’t working for many people. What happens when you live in a failing or poorly managed school district? What can you do when your school is teaching material that you feel is inappropriate for your child or doesn’t align with your values? What happens when you want to learn but don’t know where to start? What if private schools don’t fit your budget? What happens when your child isn’t getting the education they need and deserve? Options might seem limited.

That’s where the Haskel Education Network (HaskelEd) comes in. We are an online directory where families can find teachers, tutors, schools, and co-ops to create a customized education experience that fits their busy lives. Our a-la-carte approach to education revolutionizes the way learning happens. With HaskelEd, you can search for experienced teachers for any subject to fit into your schedule and learning style.

My name is Tyler Gay and I’m the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Haskel Education Network. Having been homeschooled myself, I recognize the importance of being able to find quality teachers to help with learning. Year after year, I watched as my parents built an environment where I could flourish. Back then, finding a great teacher was all word of mouth and referral based. These days, many searching parents now use short-lived, parent-led social media groups and co-ops. These are great, but often disappear when the organizer’s child graduates. My wife Kalani and I have launched the Haskel Education Network to help solve for some of these challenges. Our passion is to provide options in this space by helping connect teachers with students in a decentralized way that is here to stay.

Whether you’re looking for someone to help you learn guitar on the weekends or you’re looking to build an entire school semester schedule for your 8th grader, HaskelEd is here to help.

Has anyone you know used the teacher before? Sometimes a warm referral can be a great way to make a connection!

Don’t be afraid to ask the teacher for references. A phone call or email to someone can help you verify information

Background Checks

There are several resources available for a very low cost to do some research in advance of deciding if a teacher is right for you or your child.
